Traditional bathrooms can either be an Edwardian or Victorian style. They are considered traditional because of its typical white bathroom with essential hygienic ware and bath style. The Edwardian bathroom is where the traditional bathroom style all started.

When the TV show like Changing Rooms became popular over the past decade, the styles for conventional bathrooms have increased and rare gems of an old slipper bath or a tarnished traditional faucet may be found at a scrap yard or in a skip. However manufacturers have kept up with the demands and are skillfully crafting traditional bathroom products.
Not all styles of rooms apply in all houses. If you live in a modern high rise apartment the traditional bathroom is the ideal bathroom design for you. Or if you are staying in an old bungalow or if you have a retreat villa then this bathroom style is one that should definitely be considered.

The bath is usually the center of attraction in a traditional bathroom. The free-standing roll-top or slipper bath that sits proudly on a dark polished floor and an inset or sunken tub gives an appeal to the traditional continental style in the bathroom. Also a wall-mounted or a free-standing faucet either looks classy. And deep ridges and curved angles makes up the traditional sanitary ware bold and masculine.

Bold and soft colors works well for traditional bathroom decoration. As for brown, maroon and green colors give strong and pleasant warmness to the room. Traditional golden look can also appear better than chrome if with the right colors. Use curtains instead of blinds. And if you plan to have a lavish piece than somewhat of the traditional basin and pedestal, Oak or cherry finish is a preferable choice.

A little mess can give a bathroom a lively look and it is most appealing and enhance the traditional appearanc. So don’t be scared to put some golden frames of black and white family pictures on the wall to give it a fine look. For the final touch that will make the room cozy and give a traditional feeling, you can add old style set of weighing scales, a large framed mirror or bulky traditional radiator.
